About Us
Tacet Soap Co. is a proud family owned and operated soap making business, joyfully based in Carmichael, California. We are known for our healthful, handcrafted tallow soaps, artisanal body butters, our “pit paste” aluminum-free deodorant, and our lip balms — formulated with local bee products. Tacet ingredients are always ethically sourced and locally purchased whenever possible, in accordance with our quality standards.
Thank you for your support, and for growing with us! Tacet began in January of 2023, when our founder Kheri traveled to Tennessee and made a batch of soap with her lovely friend Mel- it was love at first batch. By April, she had begun studying with other Appalachian soap makers to hone her new craft. She used a small room in her house to formulate and fabricate those early batches, and it was there that Tacet Soap Co. was born. In mid 2024, Hunter joined the team to assist with farmer’s markets, soap making, administrative assistance and for-real general brilliance. Our creative collaboration and respect for one another is the beating heart of our brand, and what we wish to offer to you along with a very warm welcome. Tacet Soap Co. is soap for everyone!
Our Name
The word Tacet, is a musical term for the silence between playing. Tacet is a Latin word which translates into ‘it is silent’. We look to this term as a reminder of the power of reflection and stillness, moments of pause and of peace are essential — and we honor that rituals like bathing and moisturizing are spaces for reflection.
Our name was decided long ago, when a friend walked into our lives who became family and brightened our path and our peace too — they held this word in the most wonderful way, and ‘Tacet Soap Co.’ nods to that relationship for our family. We hope to spread that same joy and let the light in with everything we do in our business.

We believe that it is our responsibility to build our company into the version of the world we wish to see. Our pillars of healthy ingredients and kind community include our planet, our customers, and those neighbors with less access than the rest of us.
Tacet is proud to support charitable organizations such as Insight Housing, providing services in our greater Sacramento area since 1970. We give regularly to these communities as well as local domestic violence shelter services who are making a difference in so many lives daily.
